Welcome to our beautiful DSK Media Centre with a view!  Our library is well stocked with current literature in German, English, IsiXhosa, Afrikaans and French.  The library doubles up as a media centre with computers, laptops and printing facilities for learners and teachers.
We would love to hear from you if you have any suggestions/ideas for the library and we will do our best to accommodate you.  Book recommendations are welcome so please feel free to pop in
Please note:

  • A valid student card must be presented at all times when taking out books or laptops.
  • As much as we are thrilled that our learners enjoy reading, it is important that the books are returned on time.
  • Loans are for a period of 2 weeks.

As the library serves a dual purpose as both a library and a computer room used for teaching, we would appreciate it if parents would only make use of the library after school ends at 14h25 so as not to disrupt classes. Thanking you in advance for your cooperation.

Information regarding the handing out of text books belonging to the school

  • No textbooks/readers will be loaned out without a valid student card.
  • No books or fines may be outstanding from the previous year.
  • The books are issued to each Grade on a certain day and during a specific lesson. Exact dates will be advised timeously.
  • At the end of the school year, or if a learner leaves the school during the year, the books must be returned as a complete set.
  • To safeguard himself/herself each learner must enter his/her name in ink into the list provided in front of the book.
  • As long as a learner has a book which belongs to the DSK he is responsible for that book. Should the book be lost or damaged beyond repair the replacement value of the book must be paid. The plastic cover with which each book is covered, serves to prolong the life span of the book and must be treated with care. For this reason each book must be covered once more. No self-adhesive covers please! Extra clear plastic covers for almost all books can be purchased at the textbook library.
  • Damaged or broken CD’s will be fined with R 30.
  • Under no circumstances may any writing, crossing out or doodling be done in any of the borrowed books.
