Just over 50 learners of the Grades 1-6 participated in the DSK Holiday Care during the Easter holidays (half or full day). Therefore, we were able to offer the children different activities to choose from: the soccer fanatic children were able to improve their soccer skills and the others enjoyed a diverse “circus” program.
The circus group was led by a trained circus entertainer from England, Tom Pucket and the volunteer Anne Schreiber. The children tried juggling, handstands and cartwheels as well as building human pyramids. They even practiced various "Stand Up" comedies which was a lot of fun.
Frau Mascher and volunteer Anita Must kept the children entertained doing craft work. The learners designed their own posters for the final circus production, and invited their parents, families and friends to come and experience what they had learnt at the end of the 4 day workshop.
The soccer fanatics were headed by DSK coach Peter Magcweka and our volunteer Maximilian Kohrs. They trained and played nonstop and only stopped for water and food breaks.
The holiday care team and the children had a fantastic time together and for all participants it was great to experience the school in a different atmosphere!
