1.  Cook / Chef for our Canteen (FULL TIME) in Tamboerskloof, Cape Town.

DSK provides more than 800 students in the school with daily warm cafeteria meals and runs a tuck shop on the premises as well. We are looking for a Cook/ Chef that will prep and manage self-prepared (prepare in the school kitchen) fresh food and snacks daily, as well as work in the tuck shop along with an existing cooking team.

Main Responsibilities is:
• To support the existing team with your professional cooking know-how.
• Plan and sequence the timing of food and preparation of tasks
• Prepare, cook and serve food

Key requirements:
Head of an existing team with professional cooking know-how
• A minimum of 6-10 years’ experience within the food service industry is required
• Experienced in leading a team
• Must be proficient in English. Speaking Afrikaans is advantageous and is recommended.

2.  Tuckshop Assistant / 2019 (FULL TIME) in Tamboerskloof, Cape Town.

Start date: 10 January 2019

DSK provides more than 800 students in the school with daily warm cafeteria meals and runs a tuck shop on the premises as well.

Key responsibilities are:
• Keeping stock records and distribution of new stock
• Assisting with sales in the tuck shop
• Ensuring that a high standard of sanitation and cleanliness is maintained at all times throughout tuckshop and kitchen area
• The observation of ‘Work Place Health and Safety’ practices within the tuckshop and kitchen
• Assisting the cook in food preparation when required
• Preparation of food for tuckshop (e.g. sandwiches, muffins, wraps)
• Duties are allocated by the Cafeteria Manager

Key requirements are:
• Experience within the food service industry
• Good sense of taste and time management
• Applicant must be healthy and fit
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos

Communication and social skills:
• Present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, learners and employees of the school
• Must enjoy dealing with children
• Must be proficient in English. Speaking Afrikaans is advantageous and is recommended.
• Demonstrate a high standard of personal hygiene
• Good mathematical skills, as well as the ability to use units of South African money (ZAR), and metric system (weight measurement and volume of South Africa)
• Ability to use the E-Cash or Micros

3.  Art and Design & Technology Teacher (Senior Phase, Grade 10-12) for the IEB stream (English classes)

Start date is January 2019

Requirements:
• A teaching diploma in the relevant field
• SACE registration
• IEB experience is advantageous
• Minimum 2 years working experience
• Excellent English verbal and written skills
• Interested in journalism, media and writing is advantageous
• A successful applicant must be a dynamic educator with leadership qualities and excellent interpersonal skills
